We are so happy you have chosen to use our services. We welcome women and men of all ages and from all walks of life to participate in our Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program. Our mission is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to prepare and equip new parents for the most important job they will ever have – raising their children. “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.” Psalm 127:3
EWYL is an educational program of the Pregnancy Resource Center where clients can complete pregnancy and parenting classes online and attend a monthly meeting on the second Wednesday of each month. By completing the class assignments online, you earn points that can be redeemed in our Little Lamb Boutique 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after class. We encourage, if possible, the father of the baby to attend, or you may bring a designed support person to attend class with you.
You have a great capacity to love your child because God puts that desire in your heart. We are all born with a deep hunger for meaning and love. Many people try to satisfy that hunger with things like power, wealth, adventure, or sex. Others try to deny the hunger or bury it with drugs or a busy life-style. But there is no easy way to satisfy the hunger or hide from it. It is part of being human. Christianity teaches that our hunger for meaning and love is really a hunger for God. Our earthly love for friends, family and mate – as important as they are – cannot satisfy our hunger for God’s love.
We encourage you to face your hunger: to acknowledge your need for God’s love and forgiveness. A relationship with Jesus Christ will not make your life easy (in some ways it may be harder than before) but you will know why you are here and where you are going – to live forever with the one who truly knows and loves you.
Confess that you have done wrong things (confession is simply agreeing with God that you need his forgiveness and help).
Understand that Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for your sin (God raised Jesus from the dead to show that he had accepted Jesus’ payment for you).
Trust Jesus Chrst to come into your life, forgive your sins, and help you to become the person he created you to be.
Prayer:
Dear God
I know that I have done wrong. I need your forgiveness. I want to be the person you created me to be. I believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty for the many things I have done wrong, and that he came back to life to show his power over sin and death.
I know that you have forgiven me because of his sacrifice and not for any good thing that I have done. Right now I put my trust in Jesus and invited him to come into my life.
Thank you for creating me, loving me, forgiving me and giving me a new life. In Jesus’ name. Amen
