Our Mission

Sav-A-Life Shelby’s mission is to develop a culture of life where abortion is unthinkable and undesirable in Shelby County, Alabama, while offering the hope of the gospel. Our prayer is to see every person who engages with Women First Pregnancy Center choose life for themselves and their unborn child.

History

In 1984, God burdened the heart of Jenny Doss to reach women dealing with crisis pregnancies by starting a center in Shelby County, Alabama. Since the opening of its doors in 1985, thousands of lives have been saved. In the words of TIME Magazine, pregnancy centers are the “kind, calm, nonjudgmental” face of the pro-life movement.

Women First Pregnancy Center of Sav-A-Life Shelby Inc. offers help and hope through compassionate care and support.  The center provides free and confidential pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, abortion information, parenting classes, and material assistance. These are just some of the many services offered to empower women and men to make a life-affirming decision.

A Word from the Executive Director,
Bobby Lewis

I’m Bobby Lewis, and for the past 21 years, I’ve had the honor of leading RiverPoint Church in Pelham, Alabama. My wife Donna and I founded it with faith and love. My journey in ministry has been deeply intertwined with my passion for leadership coaching, as I guide others to discover and harness their unique leadership abilities.

Recently, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to serve as the Executive Director of Sav-A-Life Shelby, an organization that shares my commitment to making a positive impact each day. This role is an exciting extension of my calling to serve and support those around me. I am excited for the opportunity to help lead this organization into a bright and promising future!

My life’s blessings include a 41-year marriage with my wonderful wife, Donna. We’ve nurtured a family of three daughters, their husbands, and six grandchildren who bring us endless joy. I’m often found enjoying the “simple” pleasures of life, like spoiling my grandkids, losing myself in a good book, or savoring moments with my loved ones.

I believe in the power of connection and strive to make a meaningful impact through my work and relationships. My career is more than just a series of roles; it’s a reflection of my commitment to fostering growth, community, and a sense of shared purpose.
